Police are investigating a suspected car theft incident that escalated into an accidental death in the Bronx, the New York Daily News reports.
According to the report, deputies attempted to pull over a 19-year-old man for driving a stolen car at about 1:30 a.m.
The location of the traffic stop or the man’s identity could not be immediately provided by police to the New York Daily News.
Police told the outlet that the suspect sped off and the car broke down at Broadway and W. 207th St. in Inwood.
The man then ditched the car and ran along the Henry Hudson Parkway toward the city-bound upper level of the George Washington Bridge, cops described to the outlet.
The man seemingly misjudged a gap as he fled and fell onto Riverside Drive below, cops said.

EMS transported the unknown male to Harlem Hospital, where he died of his injuries, cops said, according to the outlet.
