The Lawton police department has released body camera video of a March fight between a man and officers.
According to KSWO News, police were asked to perform a welfare check on the suspect. The man’s girlfriend was the one who called police saying she believed her boyfriend was on drugs and that he could see demons.
In the video, police try to talk to the man calmly, but when they try to block an exit point he picks up a chair and uses it as a weapon.
All three officers pull out their tasers and threaten to use the non-lethal force on him.
The suspect eventually takes a swing at one of the officers, and then begins to chase and tackle a second.
He is eventually subdued after multiple taser deployments.
The man is being charged with multiple counts of assault and battery against an officer, and one count of resisting arrest.
