NYPD officers say they have a video showing a man crawling underneath one of their vehicles and cutting the brake lines to at least one van.
According to NBC New York, officers spotted the man before they got into and drove the parked van. An NYPD mechanic confirms the van would not have been able to stop if it had been driven.
Police have arrested 24-year-old Jeremy Trapp. He’s being charged with reckless endangerment and criminal mischief.
Trapp is known to police for being a part of the recent Occupy City Hall protests that have been occurring in recent weeks.
Trapp has since made bail.
