A potential “hate crime” incident related to the coronavirus is being investigated by the NYPD after a Chinese woman wearing a mask was attacked on the subway.
The incident took place on Sunday near the Grand Street station, when a woman -reportedly of Chinese ethnic origins- was assailed by a black male who took issue with her yellow face mask.
Calling her a “diseased bi**h,” the man flailed his arms, striking the woman.
According to the Daily Mail, the woman tried to flee an eventually was forced to attempt self defense when backed into the wall, but this only made the man angrier.
“Don’t f**king touch me!” he screamed, striking her several times. “Don’t f**king touch me, n****r.”
The woman who uploaded the video, identified as “Gin,” claimed both parties were at fault, despite the incident being a one-sided attack.
“The situation escalated with racial tension,” she wrote on Twitter.
The victim refused aid, despite bleeding from multiple face injuries.
The NYPD Hate Crime Task Force is encouraging the victim to step forward and report the incident.
