Police in Mississippi are looking for a man who identified himself only as “Officer Badass” following a road rage incident.
On Christmas Eve, a road rage incident turned into an assault after “a juvenile driver cut off another driver and his wife, and the unidentified man followed after the juvenile”, said Lumberton Police Chief Elsie Cowart, whose agency was called to investigate the disturbance.
According to a report by WDAM 7, the man was driving a gold or champagne colored Lexus SUV, chasing the juvenile in and out of a Shell Station parking lot, where witnesses say he fired a shot out of his car window. Cowart reported witnesses saying “the man then assaulted the juvenile, telling him he was a police officer”, and saying, “you almost killed my pregnant wife”, and “you better get out of town before I end you”.
The man only identified himself as “Officer Badass,” according to witnesses.
A .40 caliber shell casing found during the investigation has been sent to the crime lab for processing, Cowart said. She added, witnesses said the man reached for his holstered gun when he approached the juvenile, while another said he pulled his weapon.
No other information is available.
Police are asking the public for help in identifying the man. If you have any information call Lumberton Police at 601-796-7001 or Metro Crime Stoppers at 601-582-Stop.
