An Iowa State Trooper is lucky to be alive after a truck skidded off a snowy road and crashed into his vehicle this weekend.
Atlantic, Iowa has seen five inches of snow and freezing temperatures as low as -25.
According to KETV, was trying to help a man who’s truck had already slipped off the road after it had hit a patch of ice.
As they were trying to assess the situation in the ditch the second truck then lost control and began to barrel right for the trooper and the man.
“It’s funny because the trooper had just said, ‘We have to leave this spot before somebody else hits the same spot you did.’ It was like two seconds later, that car came towards us,” the man said.
The Iowa State Patrol said no one was seriously hurt. Troopers will release more information Monday.
