Surveillance video showing a fatal drive-by shooting in Chicago has been leaked on social media, and now Chicago PD is worried it may compromise the upcoming murder trial.
According to CBS News, 24-year-old Brittany Hill was shot at point-blank range last week.
In the video, Hill turns her back to the shooters to protect her child and slowly crawls behind a vehicle for safety. She was later died at the hospital.
Police believe she was a target due to gang battles in the area.
Now, Chicago PD is dealing with the repercussions from the leak. It is currently investigating who in their department posted the video online.
If it finds the leaker, the person could face felony official misconduct charges.
Prosecutors are worried that the video, released before the trial, could compromise jury selection and ultimately derail the case against the two suspected gunman.
