Large plume of smoke spotted at the Lincoln Memorial

Numerous reports of smoke rising from near the Lincoln Memorial in Washington D.C. have been reported Friday morning.

According to FOX News Senior Congressional Correspondent Chad Pergram, the smoke was visible from the U.S. Capital around 8:30 a.m.

D.C. Fire & EMS crews have been dispatched to investigate the area of the Lincoln Memorial.

According to the local Fox affiliate, U.S. Park Police officials stated the smoke may be from a vehicle that caught fire on the George Washington Parkway in the Rosslyn area.
