A Kentucky newscaster butchered the name of a Louisville Metro Police Officer who was killed in a Christmas Eve car accident.

NBC affiliate WPSD anchorwoman Brianna Clark sullied the name of LMPD Officer Deidre “Dee Dee” Mengedoht on live television, erroneously mispronouncing her name as “Dee Dee Megadoodoo.”

Detective Dee Dee Mengedoht

According to WPSD, Officer Mengedoht was killed during a traffic stop on Christmas Eve, when a semi truck driver rear-ended her vehicle, pushing the cruiser into the truck she had pulled over.

Following the crash, a fire broke out, and it is unknown whether the officer was killed by impact or flames.

At the time of her death, Mengedoht was 32 years of age and had been on the force for seven years.

The driver of the semi, Roger Burdette, has been charged with murder and operating a vehicle while under the influence.

The Louisville Metro Police Foundation has started a fund for Mengedoht’s 9-year-old son.
