“Just write me the traffic ticket” NY district attorney pulls rank on officer for pulling her over

Monroe County District Attorney Sandra Doorley said she had a tough day at the office dealing with multiple murder cases to explain why she was driving 55 miles per hour instead of the posted limit of 30. But when the officer pointed out she ignored his lights to pull over and called his boss from the car, she pulled the ‘do you know who I am’ card.

According to WHAM-13, a Webster officer attempted to pull Doorely over on Monday for a speed violation. She drove roughly another half-mile down the road and pulled into her home. During that timeframe, she called the Webster police chief to inform her she was being pulled over, she’d accepted the ticket, and she would talk to the officer.

In the police video, released on Friday, Doorely confronted the officer saying, “I didn’t feel like stopping on Phillips Road at 5:30.” The officer replied, “That’s not your choice. You know that.” The officer continued, “What do you want us to do, not do our jobs because it’s you?”

Doorely became irritated and yelled at the officer to write her the ticket. The officer then said by ignoring the police lights she went from a traffic violation to an arrestable offense and that she knew that.

Her office released a statement saying, “Nobody, including your District Attorney, is above the rule of law, even traffic laws. Anybody who knows me understands without a doubt that I have dedicated my entire 33-year career to the safety of this community. My work to ensure the safety and respect of law enforcement is well-proven time and time again. I stand by my work and stand by my commitment to the public safety of Monroe County.
