Gary police officer Jeston Walker is now a former officer.

The Gary Indiana native spent eight years patrolling and protecting the only neighborhood he knew.

In a Facebook video, he says he’s leaving for a career that’s better for his family and himself.

Officer Walker was a detective, field training officer, honor guard, Swat Operator, and an FOP executive board member.

Dispatch notified the other officers of the pending sign-off and many responded by saying “respect all, fear none.”

Officer Walker thanked them all and wished they stayed safe.
