A suspect was taken into custody after being followed by a Houston police helicopter whose pilot dismounted and tackled him to the ground.

According to KHOU, officers were called to a scene shortly after 1 p.m. in the 900 block of Melwood, Texas after a caller said that someone was inside their home.

When police arrived at the scene, several suspects refused to stop and a chase ensued.

One of the suspects took off into a field where he was chased by a low flying HPD helicopter. When the pilot was unable to use the helicopter to interdict the suspect, he landed it and took the suspect down on foot.
