Deputies with the Pierce County Sheriff’s Office shot an armed suspect who had entered a business and taken a hostage in Parkland, Washington.
The suspect, who was wearing body armor, reportedly opened fire inside the business before taking the hostage. He then opened fire on deputies responding to the active shooter situation before being shot.
He was struck in vest, and sustained no serious injures before being taken into custody. At some point during the standoff the hostage was rescued and the shooter barricaded himself inside the business.
The suspect was armed with multiple firearms, including at least one rifle.
