A South Florida teacher has been accused of a sexual relationship with a minor, authorities report.
Paige Leduc, 26, was detained after she was accused of carrying on a sexual relationship with a student of the Okeechobee County School District.
The elementary school teacher’s forbidden acts were allegedly with a student who goes to another school, according to the county.
According to Okeechobee County Sheriff’s Deputies, they were informed on Tuesday that Leduc and the child had a “romantic relationship” that began when they met during school hours and continued until the two became sexually involved.
In 2021, Leduc was honored as a “hometown hero” by a local Ford dealership in Okeechobee County.
Leduc has been charged with unlawful sexual activity with a minor.
The Department of Children and Family Services, law enforcement, the school district, and the Department of Education Office of Professional Practices will independently conduct investigations.

Let’s call it what it is: child molestation, rape, sexual assault of a minor. Pedophilia. Grooming of minors. Exploitation of minors. Any and all of those could be used to describe the truth of what happened. It is not a sexual relationship. That is such a PC safespace way of articulating the horrific behavior and actions of that teacher. Stop sugar coating it and dismissing the gravity of what happened to the victim.
This woman didn’t have a relationship with the child. She repeatedly sexually assaulted the child, and it’s gross that you worded it like it could be a consensual encounter.
Why is it sexual relationship when it’s a woman with a minor boy and it’s rape when it’s a man and a minor girl?

If it was a man, and the victim was a boy/girl, I can assure you this wouldn’t be titled “man had sexual relationship” with boy/girl. This wasn’t a consensual thing, as she took advantage of that young boy. Anyway. Homeschooling is something I’m considering, cause clearly schools aren’t safe for kids anymore (if it was ever). These female predators are going to learn at some point. Just like the male predators. You don’t get a pussy pass cause you’re a woman.
I agree with everyone you’re saying. Truly I do. However it’s pedophilia with prepubescent. Clearly this is a minor and in middle school so they are pubescent. So this would be considered hebophilia.
