A Cairo, Georgia, police officer suddenly passed away while on duty Saturday, though the Cairo Police Department has not stated a cause.
According to 11 Alive and the Cairo Police Department, Clarence “CJ” Williams joined the Department in 2020 and quickly moved up the ranks to Master Patrol Officer.
The police department stated Williams was beloved within the community and among his fellow officers.
In a Facebook post, the Cairo Police Department did not report officer “CJ” Williams passing as a line of duty death nor any mention of foul play, though they did say that the Georgia Bureau of Investigations has been called in.
The department asks for prayers and support for Williams’ family and friends.
