Dramatic footage from a Boynton Beach police officer’s body camera shows the officer being dragged more than 350 feet as she tried to stop a suspect from fleeing in a vehicle.

The incident happened back in January.

In the video, you can hear the officer shout commands to the suspect to stop. He has since been identified as 47-year-old Timothy Jones.

Jones had been ordered to wait near the patrol car as the officer inspected the vehicle. After a few moments, Jones tried to re-enter the vehicle. The officer and Jones got into a struggle with the officer being forced to deploy her taser.

The officer attempted twice to pull the keys of the ignition as the suspect began driving away and dragging the officer along the road.

Jones was stopped due to an expired tag.

The officer was injured and treated for road rash at a local hospital.

Jones did turn himself in and faces multiple charges including aggravated battery on a law enforcement officer.
