Some disturbing new videos are starting to emerge on social media as the latest craze – known as the Mannequin Challenge – sweeps the internet.
The new meme shows people ‘frozen’ in dramatic positions, and filming themselves while Rae Sremmurd’s new song “Black Beatles” plays in the background.
The first video, which was posted Oct 26, shows a group of students frozen in place, but the newest iteration is a lot less innocent.
In Palm Beach County, Fla. “David Adams” posted a video that runs under a minute showing several men frozen in position on someone’s front yard, while two other men point assault-type weapons at them from a black car parked outside. All of this, as the hit song blares from the car’s speakers.
Adams makes a note in his post indicating that “All Material Used in this Video Are Just Props.”
Lawn chairs are strewn about the yard. The men all hold different poses – some are sitting, some standing—but all are holding weapons. One man is even holding a cell phone to his ear as he holds his gun in the other hand. Another man who appears to be a bystander, watching from the driveway, does not appear to be armed.
Adams invites people to watch the clip by saying: “Take a look at our Drive By Mannequin Challenge (sic).”
As expected, there were many comments listed below the video including one woman’s, which read: “I wish police could see this and lock up there ass*s.”
Most people agreed- this version of the Mannequin Challenge was pretty idiotic.
