A county chairman in Florida has been put on blast after he was filmed telling a Florida Highway Patrolman “I run the county.”
Flagler County Commission Chairman Joe Mullins said some troubling things on June 19, after being stopped by the FHP while driving his Ferrari.
At the time, Mullins had been going 92 MPH, 22 MPH over the posted speed limit.
The trooper was explaining the circumstances of the stop and citation when he suddenly paused.
“I’m sorry?” the trooper said, misunderstanding an utterance by Mullins.
“I run the county,” Mullins said.
“You…run the county?” the trooper asked.
According to The Daytona Beach News-Journal, Mullins did not get out of the citation.
The event was captured on FHP dash cameras, and marks the second time in two weeks that the 51-year-old politician had been stopped for excessive speed.
