June 05–Imagine the surprise Falmouth cops got yesterday when officers responding to a report of a rolled-over oil truck were greeted instead by a septic truck — relieving itself of hundreds of gallons of fluids onto a quiet roadway.

Police said speed was likely a factor in the 10:49 a.m. septic tanker crash at the intersection of Sandwich and Turner roads in East Falmouth that closed the roadway as crews worked to contain some of the estimated 500 gallons of fluid that leaked from the wreck.

Members of the Massachusetts Environmental Police, Falmouth Fire and Rescue crews and state troopers assisted in the clean-up.
