The NYPD has refused to grant an ex-Playboy Playmate a gun permit, citing her numerous domestic incidents, but the woman says there’s a different reason.

Stephanie Adams, Playboy’s Miss November over 20 years ago, claims NYPD has put her through the wringer because of a $1.2 million lawsuit she won in 2012 against cops who ‘roughed her up.’

Adams was informed by NYPD’s License Division, that her application for a permit to keep a gun in her apartment was denied based on domestic incidents between 2003 and 2013, “as well as false statements she made when she had denied obtaining orders of protection in the past.”

Aside from personal protection, Adams said she wanted a permit so she can receive several guns left to her by her recently deceased father. Despite Adams’ point-by-point rebuttal of the department’s concerns, her application was still turned down, according to the NY Daily News.

Adams wrote in a letter to the department’s pistol license division: “Filing complaints many years ago against stalkers, rather than fighting them, hurting them or allowing them to hurt myself, is in fact a sign of ‘good moral character’ because I handled those problems peacefully (and) legally.”

Also on record, complaints by Adams to police involving a roommate and her current husband.

A commanding officer of the license division, initially told Adams her application was rejected in part because of “sexy pics on the Internet showing her wearing a skimpy police uniform and holding a firearm.”

The officer states, in a letter obtained by the Daily News: “You are photographed holding what appears to be an NYPD authorized Smith & Wesson 5946, with your finger in a ‘nonsafe’ position in the trigger well.”

Adams said she was shocked the photo was being used against her in the gun-application process.

According to the Daily News article, Adams sued a cab driver who falsely claimed she was armed with a gun. During that 2006 dispute, she said cops tackled her, but the officers later admitted at the civil trial, there was no place to hide a gun with the tight outfit she was wearing.

The former Playmate said she is contemplating legal action to secure a permit. Her lawyer said if the disapproval was retaliation for the lawsuit, she could file an appeal.

  1. Interestibg but one sided. All of the statements attributed to NYPD come from her. I would like to see what they say. It is possible that there were protection orders against her that she “forgot” to mention.

  2. Remind me never to live in New York. A permit to keep a firearm in your own apartment? Seriously? Also if those photos show anything it’s a lack of basic training in handling. Poor trigger discipline, and poor stance.
