A Texas teenager was arrested and is now facing a murder charge after an alleged egg-throwing prank went horribly wrong, resulting in gunplay and a fatal crash.
The suspect -reportedly driving while under age- maneuvered an SUV past cars, allowing other minors in the vehicle to toss eggs at passing cars along a Houston motorway on Tuesday afternoon.
During their dangerous prank, one irate driver flashed a handgun at the teens and chased them.
The juveniles punched through a red light in an attempt to escape, slamming into a pickup and killing the 45-year-old driver, Silvia Zavala.
According to NBC News, the teen driver suffered a broken ankle and is now in the custody of the Harris County Sheriff’s Office.
The motorist who brandished a sidearm has been identified by law enforcement and efforts are being made to interview him.
