Police officers are now using tasers to stop individuals from committing suicide. The above video was an occurrence in California where footage captured by two Lake Havasu officers wearing AXON flex on-officer cameras use a Taser to subdue a suicidal man brandishing a gun. The man subsequently fell into the pool where officers pulled him out and saved his life.
Another instance making headlines occurred in Woodbridge, New Jersey when an officer used a Taser to save the life of a suicidal man wielding a knife to his own throat. The Taser caused the man to drop the knife and allowed police to subdue him. A report on 7online.com states it was the first time an officer in the Woodbridge department had to use a Taser.
