Former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo has been charged with forcible touching following a criminal investigation.
The news comes month after the brother of CNN Newsperson Chris Cuomo resigned in shame following an investigation by the New York Attorney General’s Office.
Initially, the AG’s office did not have the authority to charge him for the micsonduct, though multiple law enforcement agencies began their own investigations after the findings came to light.
One misdemeanor complaint against Cuomo had been filed in a “sex crime” case in Albany City Court, under the jurisdiction of the Albany County Sheriff’s Office.
According to NBC4, Cuomo does not appear to be running for governor again, though his website appears to indicate there may be another bid for political office in the future.
Cuomo has maintained that he is innocent.
