An Orange County Sheriff’s Deputy saw a massive fire growing at an Orlando apartment complex and found a one-year-old trapped on a balcony. He says nothing was going to stop him from getting that baby to safety.
According to Click Orlando, the fire happened Saturday evening. 12 units suffered various levels of damage and it ultimately displaced 24 people.
Deputy William Puzynski says he was nearby when the two-alarm fire call went out. “When I got here, we saw the building fully engulfed. It was chaos everywhere,” Puzynski said.
He saw a family trapped on the third floor with the baby on a balcony. He then scaled the building and lowered the baby to his partners down below.
Firefighters then rescued seven other people trapped.
No word on what caused the fire.
The American Red Cross is assisting all of the displaced families.
