Deputy resigns after ‘thumbs up’ snapchat post with passed out driver

A Kentucky deputy has resigned after a posting a controversial photo on social media and prompting an internal investigation.

Knox County Sheriff Mike Smith accepted the resignation of John Luttrell, who posted a photo of himself giving a “thumbs up” next to an unconscious female driver behind the wheel of a lime green Volkswagen, captioned “Another day at work.”

The picture was forwarded to WYMT news by an unknown individual.

Following the investigation, Smith accepted the deputy’s resignation.
