A female Sacramento County Sheriff’s deputy is accused of having inappropriate contact with a teenage boy.

Shauna Bishop has been placed on administrative leave after she reportedly engaged in “sexual misconduct with a minor from Folsom.”

“While the investigation is pending, that deputy was put on administrative leave and there will also be an internal investigation,” said Tess Deterding, spokesperson for the Sacramento County Sheriff.

The investigation is being handled by the Folsom Police Department, and Deterding claims that administrative leave was the only course of action for something so serious.

According to CBS Local, Bishop has been with the agency for five years and regularly worked with teens in the Sheriff’s Activity League.
