Deputy dragged, injured, trying to stop suspects escaping on ATV

Three Floridians were taken into custody after an ATV driver while fleeing from an Orange County deputy on Wednesday.

The deputy was patrolling the West Oak Ridge Road area when he found three individuals smoking near a dumpster. Upon initiating contact, the suspects attempted to flee the scene.

According to Fox35 Orlando, the driver of the ATV, Angel Morales, ignored orders to stop and dragged the deputy nearly ten feet.

Morales was arrested on charges of aggravated battery on a law enforcement officer; aggravated fleeing and attempting to elude LEO; two counts of burglary of a structure with a motor vehicle; resisting officer with violence and criminal mischief.

Morales’ partners, Juliana Diaz and Alex Acevedo, were also arrested but on charges of fleeing and attempting to elude LEO, one count of burglary of a dwelling and resisting without violence.
