Deputies in Texas claim they were harassed, sexually assaulted during prostitution stings

Texas deputies involved in federally-funded “prostitution stings” claim they were harassed and assaulted by their colleagues during operations carried out in Harris County.

The female deputies, which were participating in a sting operation for the Harris County Precinct 1 Constable’s Office in Houston, claim that they were often molested and degraded by their fellow lawmen as they impersonated prostitutes.

One case involved a massage parlor, where one female deputy was told she needed to be sexually assaulted by the suspect to make an arrest. After the incident took place, she allegedly did not receive any support from the agency.

According to KSAT, Cordt Akers, one of the attorneys for the women, called the allegations “some of the most unspeakable sexual police misconduct that any of us have ever seen.”

Other incidents include high-ranking supervisors demanding the women dress in skimpier outfits or provide lap dances to avoid blowing their cover.

One allegation claimed the assistant chief and others within the agency fondled, kissed and ridiculed the female deputies while they were undercover.

Many of the deputies claimed that their careers are now in danger because they have spoken up about the abuses within the human trafficking unit.
