DC Metropolitan Police have identified a woman who was fatally shot by officers while she was wearing a special police officer uniform and carrying a firearm.
42-year-old Erica Graham of Northwest DC was shot while officers were responding to a shooting that injured another woman Saturday morning.
Graham was reportedly wearing a police uniform that bore the name of another individual at the time of the incident, and was armed.
Police are reporting that Graham shot and wounded the victim, who was her neighbor.
According to NBC4, Graham was seen waving a firearm about and smashing windows when encountered by law enforcement, and ignored police orders to drop the weapon.
Ultimately, Graham was killed after police opened fire.
Metro Police later said Graham was not registered as a special police officer, which are licensed by the city to provide services and security.
