New details surrounding the arrest warrant that was out for Daunte Wright, the man fatally shot by police near Minneapolis while resisting arrest, have emerged.

At the time Daunte Wright was stopped Sunday for an expired license plate, Wright had an active warrant for a violent crime he was charged with back in December of 2019.

During that incident, Daunte Wright reportedly held a woman at gunpoint in her home, choked her and attempted to rob her of $820 in cash.

Wright and another man, identified as Emajay Maurice Driver, reportedly attended a party at an apartment, a mere five miles from where he was shot over the weekend.

Staying the night, the two men noticed that one of the two women left the apartment to get $820, reportedly her share of the rent for the apartment.

When one of the women left the apartment,  Wright reportedly blocked the door,  producing a handgun and demanding the rent money.

“Give me the f—ing money, I know you have it,” he said, according to court documents.

According to Fox News, a brief scuffle ensued where Wright choked the woman and attempted to remove cash that was inside of her bra, but amid her screaming the two ultimately left empty-handed, only to later be identified by the woman during a police line-up.

Wright was arrested and released on a $100,000 bail.

As a condition of his probation release, Wright was forbidden from contact with the victim or witnesses, and could not possess alcohol, drugs or firearms.

Wright reportedly failed to keep in touch with his probation officer and honor the conditions of his release.

At the time of his death, Wright had an outstanding warrant after failing to appear in court on charges related to a June encounter with Minneapolis Police, when he fled after they discovered he possessed a firearm without a state permit.
