Two Cobb County Police officers are being hailed as heroes after they pulled an intoxicated man to safety after a train ran over his vehicle.
Cobb County Police posted the dashcam video of the July incident on it’s Facebook page.
Officers Veal and Smith were there to check out the vehicle that was stopped on the railroad tracks.
Shortly after trying to get the passed out man’s attention, the railroad signals activated and the crossing arms lowered, signaling an oncoming train.
One officer immediately smashed the driver side window to gain access into the locked vehicle. The second officer then helped his partner get the man out and clear of the vehicle just seconds before the train smashed into the car.
Police have not identified the man, but say he is facing multiple charges, including DUI.
