A teen who was in the middle of a high-speed chase with police in Ohio decided the best way to get away was to ditch the car and run on foot. The thing was, he decided to get out while the car was still moving at a high rate of speed.
Whitehall police released the dashcam video of the incident earlier this week. According to WSYX, the 16-year-old was getting away outside a suburb of Columbus. Police deployed spikes to try to stop the stolen car. That’s when the car swerved to avoid the spikes, strike a guardrail, and then the driver tries to tuck and roll.
He luckily survived and was relatively unharmed. When police questioned him, the teen asked the officer to check the neck brace he was wearing. Apparently, he had stolen another car before, got into an accident, and was put into the brace for the injuries he sustained in that crash.
The teen faces multiple charges.
