Dash camera footage has been released by the Florida Highway Patrol showing a man with no shirt and no shoes who was walking along a highway steal a trooper’s vehicle.
The trooper had spotted the man who appeared to be “medically distressed” as he was walking the Florida Turnpike, according to Fox 35.
The video shows the man, identified as Shane Jensen, making a dash for the trooper’s vehicle while the trooper was talking with a roadside assistance worker.
The trooper had called for medical assistance for Jensen and given him water before Jensen stole the vehicle.
Troopers and deputies from multiple counties were involved in the pursuit, which only ended after spike strips were deployed. The chase reached speeds of 145 mph.
