A California city councilwoman has bonded out of jail after she led police on a high-speed chase with a child and dog in her vehicle.

According to the San Joaquin Valley Sun, Lemoore City Councilwoman Holly Blair pulled out of the police department’s parking lot at a high rate of speed.

Officers shouted to Blair to slow down or stop, but she put her foot down and accelerated out into the road.

Police immediately gave chase, watching her as she blew through stop signs and continued to drive dangerously.

They eventually caught up and stopped the runaway SUV.

As officers pulled Blair from the vehicle, they noticed a child and dog were also in the SUV.  Child Protective Services took the child in.

During her arrest, officers described Blair’s behavior was described as “bizarre.”

Blair is a controversial member of the city council. She was elected in 2016 and had just settled a lawsuit with the city over her social media posts earlier this year.

Blair had posted photos of text messages between her and the police chief.  In those messages, she accused officers were targeting her and pulling her over for traffic violations regularly.
