A disgruntled Florida man -and possibly multiple Florida men- keep Clay County citizens and law enforcement on edge by routinely holding a sign that reads “Kill A Cop.”
The unknown dissident holds up the sign all over town, including several schools, prompting people to inform law enforcement about the threatening messages.
However, the local police already know about the sign, and that multiple people have been spotted holding it. They just can’t do anything about it.
Since the sign is protected by the First Amendment, not much can be done unless the individuals in question actually carry out an accompanying act of violence or make a specific threat.
This, of course, doesn’t sit well with many locals- who are threatened by the signs.
“People need to know about this,” said Janet Gibson, who snapped footage of the sign-holder. “It’s in my backyard. To me that’s not freedom of speech. That’s like a terrorism.”
According to Action News Jax, local law enforcement say the sign-holding has gone on for about two years.
