Police in Anaheim, California are looking for two women who were caught on camera stealing from a church office while Sunday services were in session.
Officials say the congregation was in the middle of prayers just next door at
The Faith Lutheran Church of Anaheim, when the women stole items belonging to the pastor, as well as a check given to the church.
Church officials told police that the pastor’s wallet, keys and phone were stolen and a $300 check being donated to the church was also taken.
One of the women seen on the video had apparently been at the church before so officials believe the thieves may be local–ABC 7 reported.
“Who would steal from a servant of God?” the church wrote on its Facebook page after the incident. “Jesus preached forgiveness, but we’re having a hard time coming to that place right now,” the post said.
Detectives are asking anyone with information about the case to call Anaheim PD at (714) 765-1900.
