SAN LEANDRO — An 80-year-old Asian man and a 19-year-old Hispanic woman were the victims of separate street robberies Saturday believed committed by the same suspects, police said.

The 80-year-old man was out for a walk about 4 p.m. Saturday in the 14200 block of Acapulco Drive in the city’s Marina Faire neighborhood when two males got out of a car, approached him and pushed him to the ground while yelling at him to give them his wallet.

The man was also punched by one of the suspects before he screamed and they took his watch and fled in a blue Subaru, police said.

The man sustained minor scrapes but did not require medical attention, police said.

Police believe the same suspects robbed the woman of her purse about 5:45 p.m. Saturday in the 500 block of Bancroft Avenue in the city’s Broadmoor neighborhood. The robbers fled in a blue Subaru.

She was not injured.

Anyone with information may call San Leandro police at 510-577-2740.
