The dean of a California middle school in the Banning Unified School District was arrested for trying to lure a 14-year-old boy into having sex with him, using nude photos as incentive.

Aside from the reprehensible and immoral nature of his act, there was a fatal flaw in his strategy: the 14-year-old boy was a police officer.

55-year-old Charles Patrick Mayer was only recently appointed to his position when he began conversing with a “teenager” on social media.

Unbeknownst to Mayer, the young boy was actually an adult member of the Rancho Cucamonga Police.

In less than a week’s time, Mayer unwittingly sent the police nude photos and arranged to meet at his home, where they would engage in “sexual acts.”

According to KTLA, the dean was brought down at a designated meeting place on Friday, sometime around 4:30 PM.

Mayer was booked into the West Valley Detention Center for sending harmful matter to a minor, arranging to meet a minor for sexual acts and contacting a minor with sexual intent. His bail was set at $1 million.

Police are concerned that he has had encounters with other minors and have since released his photo.
