An English woman reportedly posed as a teenage boy online so that she could groom dozens of young girls for later sexual use, according to a police report.
Enfield resident Gemma Watts, a 21-year-old posing as 16-year-old “Jake Waton,” was snatched up by police and has pleaded guilty to sexual offenses involving four girls, though police believe there may be dozens of victims.
Watts plead guilty in November to to one count of assault by penetration, three counts of meeting a child following sexual grooming and three counts of sexual assault.
The adult female would often scour social media for her victims, dressing as a boy and even going so far as to meet the families of some of the victims.
“It’s been life-changing for all of the victims involved,” Detective Constable Phillipa Kenwright said.
The predator was tipped off to law enforcement by a doctor, who was told by one of his patients that she had been seeing an older boy.
According to the New York Post, Watts would tie her hair in a bun and wear caps, hoodies and tracksuits, giving off the quintessential “chav” look common in British towns.
Initially arrested, Watts was taken downtown mere months later after she was spotted on a train with a fourth girl.
