UPDATE: One of the officers who was shot has died. The condition of the other officer is not known.
The two NYPD officers that were shot in the Bronx were responding to a robbery call. When they arrived they encountered a heavily armed suspect who opened fire on the officers, who are both sergeants.
The officers were shot up to 10 times, including at least one shot to the head, according to Fox News.
Two New York City police officers have been shot in the Van Nest area of the Bronx.
The officers were rushed to Jacobi Medical Center and their conditions are unknown.
Multiple sources are reporting the gunman was shot and killed by the officers.
