A Mississippi lawman is wounded after being involved in a shootout between two men who stole a getaway car after robbing a Jackson apartment.
The incident took place on Wednesday evening after the robbers stole a black 2016 Chevrolet Impala. When police tracked down and located the vehicle, the two suspects opened fire on the officers, injuring one.
JPD on scene at 2700 Meadows Dr., carjacking suspect(s) fired shots at officers, officer returned fire. One officer w/ minor injuries.

The officers pursued the suspects, who eventually dismounted the vehicle and got away. The stolen car was recovered.
According to WAPT, one individual -known by his Facebook moniker “Nawffside Oudaa”- is the subject of a manhunt due to his link to the crime.
“This individual, possibly armed and dangerous, allegedly involved with officer involved shooting on Meadows Street,” JPD said on Facebook. “Call police w/ info.”
