Video showing Boston Police Officer John T. Moynihan being shot at point-blank range during a traffic stop in Roxbury on March 27 was released at a news conference Friday.

The suspect in the shooting, Angelo West, 41, of Hyde Park, was shot and killed by police at the scene.
Releasing the disturbing video of the shooting “reflects our intention to make best practices on transparency better,” said Suffolk County District Attorney Dan Conley.
Boston Police Commissioner William Evans echoed that statement, saying it is “so important to be as transparent as possible.”
Moynihan, who has been recovering from a gunshot wound below his right eye at Boston Medical Center, is “remarkably doing well,” Evans said according to boston.com.
