An Alabama police officer has been shot in Saraland after an exchange of gunfire with a suspect and she is in “critical but stable” condition.
Officer Jackie Tucker of Saraland PD was downed after officers engaged armed suspect Blake Richardson on Wednesday morning.

Tucker and other SPD officers were responding to a domestic call involving Richardson, who opened fire on the officers as they arrived.
“[Richardson] immediately opened fire when the officers arrived, striking one of the police officers in the head,” said Chief James West of SPD. “My officer is in critical condition and we ask the community and everyone for their prayers.”
According to WKRG, Blake reportedly surrendered after a short chase and died of his wounds, having been in critical condition when he was transported off-scene.
