Breaking: Shots fired at Texas college, Active Shooter situation ongiong

UPDATE: 1:56 p.m. (EST) – Irving police are reporting that there is one deceased victim and the shooter has committed suicide.

1:33 p.m. (EST) – James Mclellan of the Irving PD has just issued a statement preliminarily identifying the suspected shooter as a white male in an orange tank top armed with a hand gun.

Mclellan also stated he believed shots were fired and injuries sustained based on radio traffic he heard on his way to the scene.

Earlier:
North Lake College in Irving, TX is currently on lockdown after reports of shots fired and alerts issued by Irving PD and the school. SWAT and other law enforcement officers are on scene searching for the shooter.

North Lake College police confirmed shots were fired at the Irving campus just before noon Wednesday.

The suspect is not in custody and the situation is ongoing. We will update this report as more information is released.
