UPDATE: Russia’s Ambassador to the UN died following an apparent heart attack, according to multiple reports. Vitaly Churkin was at the Russian consulate in New York when he suffered the attack.
No foul play is suspected, according to the New York Daily News.

Moscow, Feb 20 – Russia’s ambassador to the United Nations passed away on Monday in New York, according to a statement by the Russian foreign ministry.
Vitaly Churkin died only a day before his 65th birthday.
“A prominent Russian diplomat has passed away while at work. We’d like to express our sincere condolences to Vitaly Churkin’s family,” read the statement.
