Update: The ‘All Clear’ has been issued at North Broward Preparatory School following reports of shots fired and a massive police response.
Teachers, students, and families are all on heightened alert following yesterday’s mass shooting at nearby Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School that left 17 dead and more than a dozen wounded.

Teachers are reportedly barricaded with students in classrooms and there is a significant police response following reports of shots fired at North Broward Preparatory School.
Little is known at this time, including whether or not this is the result of heightened tensions following yesterday’s mass shooting at nearby Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, where 17 were killed and at least 14 more injured.

If it turns out to be a false alarm, it’s not entirely unexpected as yesterday’s events took their toll on the area, especially at local schools.
