A Swedish court has found U.S. rapper A$AP Rocky guilty of assault and has handed down a conditional sentence after a June street brawl with another man.
The incident received a lot of attention, including from President Donald Trump who tweeted that he was willing to get involved in order to obtain the rapper’s release.
According to CNN, A$AP Rocky and two other members of his entourage beat up another man in the Swedish capital of Stockholm. That fight was caught on video and went viral.
The musician has maintained his innocence saying that he had asked the man to back away multiple times and the fight was in self-defense.
A$AP Rocky was held in a Swedish jail for just over a month before his recent release back to the U.S.
He was not required to be in court for today’s ruling.
The terms of the ruling have not been released, so it is unknown if the rapper will be extradited back to Sweden to serve any time in prison.
