UPDATE: The suspect is reportedly in custody after arriving at a hospital with a gunshot wound.

A Pennsylvania State Trooper has been shot following a traffic stop near Allentown by a suspect who fled the scene in a blue 2008 Pontiac.
911 calls described the scene as an ‘active shootout,’ according to NBC 10.
The shooting took place at approximately 10:30 a.m. this morning
Troop M reports one trooper shot during traffic stop on Rt. 191, Plainfield Twp., Northampton County. More information to come as available.

The trooper’s condition is not known but aerial footage showed a convoy on the highway rushing them to the hospital.
