UPDATE: Nine people have been confirmed killed and approximately 50 others injured after a truck plowed into an popular Christmas market in Berlin, according to authorities.
Officials have not officially released a motive, but it is believed to be terrorist attack.
The number of dead and injured is expected to rise as information is released.

In a suspected terror attack in Berlin, a large truck traveling at a high rate of speed plowed into a crowd at a popular Christmas market, killing several people and injuring scores more.
Witnesses claim via social media that the driver was going approximately 40 mph when he intentionally drove into the crowd of people.
This likely terrorist action mimics the attack in Nice, France which killed 86 people and injured over 400.
