A Montgomery, NY police officer was rushed to the hospital after being shot in Maybrook, NY.
Local news outlet ABC 7 initially reported the officer shot was the police chief of neighboring Montgomery, but have since updated their reporting and are no longer identifying the shooting victim as the chief.
The suspected shooter has barricaded himself near where the shooting took place.
The chief’s condition has not been released.
New York State Police, as well as other agencies, are now on scene with a negotiator.
Maybrook is approximately 70 miles north of New York City.
